About Us

It started in November/December of 2021 when someone asked a Davie County Facebook group about toy boxes. Being a small town someone shared that the previous coordinator could no longer do it. After some research, I contacted the Marine Corp Toys for Tots Foundation to see how to apply. I moved to Davie County in 2019 and thought it would be a great way to get to know the community and help those in need. I was told applications opened in the Spring of the following year. After applying I attended training in Virginia with hundreds of Marines and civilian volunteers. It was an eventful few days of learning about how to start a campaign and collect toys.

What is our program and how does it work?
Our program, Toys for Tots, is a longstanding initiative that began during the war and has since expanded its reach across the United States. Our primary objective is to ensure that children in need receive toys during the holiday season. As an organization, we take charge of our county's efforts to fundraise and collect enough toys to meet the demand. We work closely with businesses and individuals who generously contribute to our cause. Through collaborative partnerships, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of children by providing them with toys and spreading joy during this special time of year. We also put on events such as a golf tournament and car/vendor show to raise funds to purchase toys we may not get enough of. We then collect the toys, sort, count, and group them into ages.
