The Carolina Disco Turkeys will highlight a group of teams that will participate in a summer collegiate baseball tournament to take place at Mando Field at Mocksville&rsquo\;s Rich Park coming up.
\n\nThe round robin tournament\, dubbed the Blue Ridge Invitational\, will begin Tuesday\, July 29\, and will also have games on Friday\, August 1\, and Saturday\, August 2.
\n\nThe tournament will include an afternoon and evening game for all 3 days. Admission for each day of the event will be $8.
\n\nOther teams participating in the tournament include the Catawba Valley Stars\, a Hickory based team that has a claim as the oldest summer collegiate team in North Carolina\; the Uwharrie Wampus Cats\, of Albemarle\, North Carolina\; and the Marion Hungry Mothers of the Southwest Virginia mountains.
\n\nThe Disco Turkeys\, who played a special home series in Mocksville earlier this summer\, are based out of Wake Forest University&rsquo\;s Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem. They&rsquo\;ll participate in the late game each day. Like the other teams\, the Disco Turkeys&rsquo\; roster includes players from all levels of college baseball\, including several Division 1 players. Pitcher Braeden Rodgers is a Davie County player on their roster.
\n\n&ldquo\;We&rsquo\;re excited to get all of these teams together for a competitive postseason tournament in a good venue that&rsquo\;s central to all the teams\,&rdquo\; said Disco Turkeys president Greg Sullivan. &ldquo\;These will be highly contested games and it&rsquo\;s great to wrap up the season with a tournament so players have an opportunity for bragging rights.&rdquo\;
\n\nTie breaker factors for the round robin will be head-to-head outcomes\, followed by runs allowed by each team.
