This free event celebrates the strength and resilience of cancer survivors\, offering a day filled with lunch\, wellness activities\, survivorship information\, and treatment resources. It's an uplifting occasion that brings together survivors\, supporters\, and healthcare professionals in recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day\, observed across the country. Last year\, over 300 survivors and their caregivers attended\, and this year's event promises to be just as powerful offering an inspiring and joyful space to honor life after cancer. Local coordination is led by Cancer Services\, with generous support from sponsors including Novant Health and Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute\, and collaboration from community partners like the Sawtooth School for Visual Art and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. "Survivors Day is a heartfelt celebration of life and hope\," says Tara O'Brien\, Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Services. "It's a day to honor the journeys of those who have faced cancer and to recognize the vital roles that families\, friends\, and patient advocates play in that journey."
