Summer is for Movies in the Park! Saturday, August 9, at 8:30 p.m., the Town of Mocksville presents Despicable Me 4.
Gru is back in action—this time facing a new villain from his past, Maxime Le Mal, a cockroach-enhanced supervillain and former classmate. After Gru helps capture Maxime, the villain escapes prison and sets his sights on Gru’s infant son, Gru Jr., using a mutation device that transforms people into cockroach hybrids.
To protect his family, Gru, Lucy, and their children go into hiding under new identities in a quiet suburb. Meanwhile, the Anti-Villain League experiments with giving a select group of Minions superpowers, turning them into “Mega Minions.” In their new neighborhood, Gru is discovered by a sharp and determined teen named Poppy Prescott, who blackmails him into helping her pull off a heist at their old school.
Things spiral when Maxime uses the stolen item—a mascot with a hidden tracking device—to locate Gru. He kidnaps Gru Jr. and begins the transformation process. With the help of Poppy and the superpowered Minions, Gru mounts a daring rescue mission, defeats Maxime and his partner Valentina, and saves his son. Dr. Nefario eventually restores Gru Jr. to normal, and the family returns to their life, stronger than ever.
